Golf Course OTHER, SUMMARY STATEMENT: The compactor enclosure located adjacent to Vern's Tavern on 7th Avenue is to be relocated (rebuilt) adjacent to 812 Main on a permanent easement owned by the City of Caldwell. Funding for this project will be from the public improvement monies budgeted by the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Caldwell associated with the Creekside Project. Staff will produce an informal bid solicitation pursuant to Idaho Code 67-2805 for the enclosure. This resolution, if approved, would authorize the City Engineer or Public Works Director to award this project for an amount less than $200k to the responsive apparent low bidder. Time is of the essence on this project as a new home for the compactor is needed so the Creekside can utilize the space where it now sits. Note that the new enclosure will accommodate both the compactor now in operation and a new recycling compactor since a substantial amount of the trash generated in downtown is recyclable cardboard. RECOMMENDED ACTION.• It is the recommendation of Public Works that the Board approve the attached resolution.
