The Mayor read a letter into the record from Mr. Williams outlining his interest to serve as a City Council
Member.
Dear Mayor Wagoner:
First of all, let me congratulate you on being elected our Mayor. I am certain it is exciting, invigorating,
sobering, and challenging but 1 believe you are where you are supposed to be! I look forward to where
Caldwell will go under your leadership.
It has come to my attention that the replacement for your seat on the City Council has not been filled yet.
While my stated interest in the seat is late coming, my interest in the wellbeing of Caldwell and its citizens
is not. I would like to be considered as a candidate to fill the remainder of your term on the Council.
I have been a resident of Caldwell since 2007. For over 12 years, 1 volunteered for the City as the Police
Chaplain for Caldwell Police Department. 1 was hired by Canyon County as a deputy coroner and
currently work for Jim Wilhite's Bale Wagons in Greenleaf. My past is diverse and varied but 1 have
unique perspectives to bring. Previously 1 worked in banking as an Operations Officer for a bank based in
Beverly Hills and serviced high-end clients. From there 1 managed a restaurant while 1 earned by
bachelor's degree. Like you, 1 spent time abroad and lived with my family in Columbia. From there my
time with our international organization took me all over the US. and aboard speaking and representing.
As my family grew, I was reluctant to travel and moved here to pastor the Montana Avenue Baptist Church,
which I did for 12 wonderful years.
1 believe in our city, and 1 believe in the great potential of our community. Please consider my interest in
filling your seat. If you have any questions, I would be delighted to answer all of them.
Sincerely, Geoff Williams
