TRAFFIC COMMISSION

PRESENT: Vezzoso, Gable, Gray, Sobba, Cory, Enochs and Gibbons
OLD BUSINESS
1. A discussion was held regarding the Idaho Traffic Signal`
Operation Manual.
2. Letter fram Washinyton 5chool PTO

After considerable discussion,the eo}ec-s of the
commission was to ask for a meeting with Mayor Dakan regarding
policy and guidelines for street improvements adjacent to
schools.
Janet Mackey of the R'ashington School PTO will be invited to
attend next commission meeting.
3. State Transportation Board
The commission discussed the proper method for initiating
traffic concerns with the State Traris portation Board. LeRoy
Meyer sets the agenda for the Board.
Motion by Enochs, second by Gray o write a letter to the State
Transportatian Board LeRoy Meyer) to establish a 3rd freeway
lane on the east-bound lane from the Piotus exit to the
Cent nnial Way exit. Passed.
Motion by Gable, second by Gray to ask State Transportation
Board to study possibility of stop lights at 21st and Blaine,
21st and Cleveland, 23rd and Cleveland, 23rd and Blaine.
Passed.
NEW BUSINESS
l. Chief Sobba discussed concerns for raili crossing safety
7 fatalities in last 2 years).Discussion held.The
commission needs more information about Railroad Safety
i.e.,train speeds through town;on-going safety
programs).

2. Centennzal Way Speed Limit
Speed limit siyr s are nat consistent 45 mph reduced to 35 mphatChicago) . Commission will write a letter asking that 45 mphspeedIimitbeappliedconsistently.
