Speciel Heeting

Meeting called to order at 7:00 a.m. in the Mayor's Office. CityEngineer, Mel Lewis, informed us of request for cross-work at CofIonMichiganStreet.t Discussion of request included lowrtratficvolumeandlowspeeds.It was decided that due to lowcostofpaintandre-use of signs, the cost would be quite low.Discussion on vacating roads at colleqe on Michigan, Ohio andalley. The colleqe is in the process of acquirinq the last pieceofpropertyinthatblock.
4 Motion was made by Schuyler Enochs and seconded by Mike Gable to4recommendacrosswalkbeinstalledonMichiqanatthecornerof-Haze2, and si nsg posted properly. This was passed unanimously bytheCommission.-

3. Nan-uniformity of siqns
a) Discussion on Illinois Street from lOth to Canyon Hill.
Speed is 35 mph goinq east and 30 mph qoing west.
Discussion folloaed on whether to raise speed to 35 mph
or lower to 30 mph. Also, if speed limit is below hill
tat Sth to lOth) would be 35 mph and from Sth to
Cemetary, would be 30 mph. City Engineer and Police
Chief will provide more information at next meeting.
Striping at Sth was questioned also. Cont.
4. Traffic Congestion
a) Linden and lOth lead discussion with conaestion an
obvious problem at schools beqinning and
dismissal times.Obvious need for more
information as to traffic counts and
comprehension plannincz. More information provided
at next meeting. Cant.
5. Pedestrian and Bike Paths and Safety
e) Bicycle path at Linden from lOth to Georqia, not
signed properly. Chief Sobba needs more information on
enforcement ordinance on books to prevent parkina in
pathways. Discussion on extreme need for sidewalks and_
bicy le path for schools and other traffic needed.
1. Motion by Schuyor Enochs and secondesi by
Mike Gable for signinq along all bike paths.
Motion was unanimously carried.

8) Ustick and Linden Crossinqs qenerally discussed.
Update qiven by Gary Vezzoso on Canyon County Rail
Safety Committee meeting of March 5, 1990.
l. Ustick will probably be targeted for
improvements next with Linden following.
