Approve resolution authorizing the use of General Fund
Contingency to share in the cost of restoring the
stairwell and foyer of the Sweetwater Building located at
123 7th Avenue in Downtown Caldwell.
A scheduled Caldwell City Council Budget Workshop will immediately
follow the adjournment of this Special Meeting.

City Council President, Chris Allgood, opened the meeting at 6:00 p.m. held at the Caldwell Airport
Conference Room at 4814 E.Linden Street.
The Roll of the City Council was called by the City Clerk with the following members present: Pollard,
McGee(zoom),Allgood,and Callsen. Absent: Wagoner and Hopper.
NEW BUSINESS:
(APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 171-21 AUTHORIZING THE USE OF GENERAL FUND
CONTINGENCY TO SHARE IN THE COST OF RESTORING THE STAIRWELL AND
FOYER OF THE SWEETWATER BUILDING LOCATED AT 123 7TH AVENUE IN
DOWNTOWN CALDWELL)
Brent Orton, Public Works Director at 411 Blaine Street, provided the staff report. He explained that
the original budget of$300,000 for renovations to the Sweetwater building has been expended. The
building is near completion with the exception of the stairwell entrance.
The Destination Caldwell Board has agreed to participate the cost of the stairwell renovations to up the
amount of $25, 000. Negotiations with the adjacent owner to participate in the project were
unsuccessful. The bid from Beniton Construction totals $44,688.32. Staff recommends moving
forward with the project authorizing the use of General Fund Contingency.
MOVED by Pollard,SECONDED by McGee to approve Resolution No. 171-21 as printed.
Roll call vote: Those voting yes: Pollard, McGee, Callsen, and Allgood. Those voting no: none.
Absent and/or not voting: Wagoner and Hopper.
