HomeMy WebLinkAboutSite #3 Open House Letter February 19, 2010 Dear Resident/Property Owner: The purpose of this letter is to inform you of a rezoning project the City of Caldwell is conducting in your neighborhood. In the 1970’s, the City of Caldwell adopted a zoning ordinance and zoning map which designated the land in this neighborhood R-2 Medium Density Residential. In the 1980’s, an interchange was built at Centennial Boulevard, but the zoning of this neighborhood remained intact. The current residential zoning does not promote highway-related uses that you will find near the other I-84 interchanges in Caldwell. The City would like to expand development opportunities in this neighborhood. I am proposing a rezoning of the property near the Centennial Boulevard interchange to C-4 Interchange Commercial. I understand that this project may raise concerns or questions such as how this rezoning would affect your property taxes and your ability to obtain building permits on your property. Therefore, the City is hosting an open house on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Caldwell Police Station (110 S. 5th Avenue) where City personnel will be available to meet with you to discuss this proposal. Please contact my office and set up a meeting or conference call if you are unable to attend the open house. Enclosed with this letter is a map of the area proposed to be rezoned and a table that outlines the uses that are permitted in the R-2 and C-4 zoning districts. I hope to see you at the Open House! Sincerely, Brian K. Billingsley, AICP Planning & Zoning Director Attachments (Rezoning Map, Zoning Table)
