CALDWELL CITY OF
AN ORDINANCE ENACTED BY THE CALDWELL CITY COUNCIL CHANGING THE NAME
FOR A PORTION OF "S. GEORGIA AVENUE" TO "COUNTY FAIR AVENUE"; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS, ORDERS AND PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, State of
Idaho:
Section 1: Pursuant to the authority set forth in Idaho Code § 50-318 and in the Caldwell City Code
at § 05-07-08(2), and upon the request of the Caldwell Mapping Department, portions of the roadway now
known as "S. GEORGIA AVENUE" between Stocktrail Road and Blaine Street shall be changed to
"COUNTY FAIR AVENUE" in order to eliminate addressing conflicts with another portion of S. Georgia
Avenue.
Section 2: The City of Caldwell is the only property owner affected by this change. Therefore, the
change will be effective immediately upon publication of this ordinance.
Section 3: This ordinance is hereby declared to be severable. If any portion of this ordinance is
declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force
and effect and shall be read to carry out the purposes of the ordinance before the declaration of partial
invalidity.
Section 4: All ordinances, resolutions, orders and parts thereof in conflict herewith are repealed,
rescinded and annulled.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Mapping Department has determined that the name of the portion of S. Georgia Avenue
between Stocktrail Road and Blaine Street needs to be changed. According to the City's address
grid, this section is in direct conflict with the portion of S. Georgia Avenue directly south of
Hillcrest Lane.
Section 05-07-08(2) of the Caldwell City Code indicates a written notice of at least 90 calendar
days in advance of the effective date of this change. However, the only existing address off of
this portion of roadway is a pump station used to irrigate Griffiths Park. The County is working
on plans for a new fair building that will front on this portion of roadway and have come up with
the proposed name of County Fair Avenue. It is proposed that this name change become
effective immediately.
