Hi Jarom,
I took the time to meet with Stacy at the Ashley Manor near my
home today. The facility is located at the NE corner of Arlington and
Spruce and the are applying to increase the occupancy to a
maximum of 13 residents.
I am writing in support of this occupancy change for the good people
operating this facility. It will give them the number of residents they
need to make the project viable for the owners. This building has sat
vacant for a number of years and I welcome having it back as an
operational facility. This type of elder care is in short supply and
these folks need the support of the local community.
I hope the permitting process goes smoothly for the Ashley Manor
people and hope city government does their best to facilitate the
process for these folks. We will not be at the hearing and would like
to have this email read into the record.

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is in regards to the application for rezoning the property at 3213 Arlington
Avenue, Caldwel, ID from R1 to R2., Case #ZON-01-14?SUP-03-14. Having attended
both the open house and the informational meeting at the invitation of the Ashley Manor
Rep, we have some concerns pertaining to the change.
We do not feel that the living space of the residence, both inside and out, is adequate for
the proposed number (13) of dementia/alzeimers residents.
The proposed number of staff present over a 24 hour period also concerns us with
regards to adequate level of care and safety that these extremely vulnerable clients
would require.
Having had first hand knowledge of how well the residence provided adequate care
for 8 clients when it first opened as an assisted living facility we cannot envision the
same residence being able to adequately provide the quality of care for a number higher
than 8.
We would ask you to please consider our concerns when making your decision in
changing this residence to R2 as opposed to leaving it with its present status of R1.
Should the change to R2 be approved, our question would be if the residence changed
hands in the future would the zoning revert back to R1 or remain R2?
