ORDINANCE NO. 3090
AN ORDINANCE ENACTED BY THE CALDWELL CITY COUNCIL AMENDING
THE CALDWELL ZONING ORDINANCE SECTION BY AMENDING SECTION 10-12
REGARDING CITY CENTER ZONING DISTRICT; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES,
RESOLUTIONS, ORDERS,AND PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State
of Idaho:
Section 1. That Chapter 10, Article 2, Section 6 of the Caldwell City Code, entitled `Sign
Schedule' shall be amended as follows:
PROJECTING SIGN: A sign greater than six s ware feet other than a wall sign or blade sigti that
projects from and is supported by the wall of a building or structure.
BLADE SIGN: A sigp six square feet or smaller, which is suspended from an overhang, canopy,

CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT: The area located between 5th Avenue loth Avenue Union
Pacific Railroad and Indian Creek in downtown Caldwell.
Section 2. That Chapter 10, Article 12, Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Caldwell City Code
entitled "City Center Zoning District", shall be amended as follows:

Section 10-12-04: USE STANDARDS:

(13) Outdoor Lighting:
B. Floodlight fixtures shall be located in such a manner as to prevent direct glare into a
street and to minimize impact on abutting properties.

Section 10-12-05: CITY CENTER DESIGN REQUIREMENTS:
(3) Dimensional Standards:
J. Building Height:
1. Maximum building height is three (3) stories or forty-five feet (45'). (Ord. 2571, 12-
19-2005 . There is no maximum buildinp,height for all structures located within the "downtown
area" which is defined as the area bordered on the north bv the railroad tracks on the south by
Dearborn Street on the west by-Fourth Avenue and on the east by Twelfth Avenue.
(4) Standards For Materials, Colors, Wall openings And Projecting Elements:

H. Wall Openings:
1. Glazing shall not be reflective(mirrored).
2. Window openings shall have vertical proportions or may be square.
3. window shutters shall be sized to match their openings.
4. Windows shall be recessed no less than two inches (2") from the building facade. (Ord.

(8) Standards For Pedestrian Amenities: Pedestrian amenities shall be provided in one of three
(3)ways as set forth in this subsection.

Section 3. All ordinances, resolutions, orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed,rescinded and annulled.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and in effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication, according to law.
Section 5. This ordinance is hereby declared to be severable. If any portion of this
ordinance is declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall
continue in full force and effect and shall be read to carry out the purposes of the ordinance
before the declaration of partial invalidity.
