ORDINANCE NO.3085
AN ORDINANCE ENACTED BY THE CALDWELL CITY COUNCIL CHANGING
THE OFFICIAL STREET NAME OF "ARAUJO AVENUE" TO "ROCCA AVENUE";
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS, ORDERS AND PARTS THEREOF
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, Canyon
County,State of Idaho:
Section 1: That pursuant to the authority set forth in Idaho Code § 50-318 and in the
Caldwell City Code at § 05-07-08(2) and upon the request of the Caldwell Fire and Mapping
Departments, that certain street known as "Araujo Avenue" located in Sienna Hills Subdivision
No. 3, recorded in Canyon County, Idaho as Instrument No. 2015004800 in Book 44 of Plats at
Page 24, and Sienna Hills Subdivision No. 4, recorded in Canyon County, Idaho as Instrument
No. 2016032038 in Book 45 of Plats at Page 24, shall be changed to "Rocca Avenue".
Section 2: Notice to all affected developed property owners will be sent out upon passage of
this ordinance with an effective date 90 days thereafter. This change will be effective
immediately upon publication of this ordinance for all remaining properties fronting this street
that are undeveloped or are currently under construction.
Section 3: This ordinance is hereby declared to be severable. If any portion of this ordinance
is declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue
in full force and effect and shall be read to carry out the purposes of the ordinance before the
declaration of partial invalidity.
Section 4: All ordinances, resolutions, orders and parts thereof in conflict herewith are
repealed, rescinded and annulled.
PASSED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO, this 6th day of
February,2017.

RE: Change of Official Street Name from Araujo Avenue to Rocca Avenue
Date: January 23, 2017
Requested Action: Approve ordinance changing official street name from Araujo Avenue
to Rocca Avenue
The Fire and Mapping Departments have determined that the existing street name of Araujo is
too much of a sound alike to another street. Araujo Avenue is located in Sienna Hills
Subdivision No. 3 and No. 4. The proposed new street name is Rocca Avenue.
In accordance with Section 05-07-08(2) of the Caldwell City Code, the Mapping Department
will give written notice to existing homeowners a minimum of 90 calendar days in advance of
the effective date of this change, which date will be May 8, 2017. This change will be effective
immediately for lots under construction and all remaining undeveloped lots fronting this street.
Staff recommends approval of the attached ordinance.
