Councilmen - Gamboa, Carter, Banks, Williams, McCluskey, Dakan
The Commission met in the Council Chambers with the City Council for the purpose
of informing the Council of current thoughts and proposals for bike paths,
trails, and greenways.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pasley.
Some routine City business was handled.
Mhairperson Bauman presented a draft request for action for the development of
a comprehensive long range system of greenways, bicycle paths, pedestrian ways
and/or other trails for the City of Caldwell. Also included in the presentation
were recommendations for the Dixie Drain Path. (Copy of presentation is on file.)
Discussion by Council members included the following:
1. Proposal should be presented to the City Planning Commission instead of
directly to the City Council.
2. Arlo Nelson should be named to oversee the plan development rather than
involving the Canyon Development Council.
3. An agreement between the City and Pioneer Irrigation District permitting
the City to build and maintain a bike path along the Dixie Drain has
been presented to the District for approval by City Attorney Tunnicliff.
4. The City has contracted for side striping on 10th from Dearborn to
Linden, Linden from Kimball to Cleveland, and Montana from Cleveland
to Linden.
