Seconded by Ken Roberts. Passed. Dixie Drain project - Chr. Matheson reported on-aa meeting attended by Mayor Pasley, City Attorney Tunnicliff, City Finance Director Horan, Commission • members Matheson, Rankin, and Conger held to .discuss further plans on the project. The letter from Nature West was read by all officials present details d hiring Tunnicliff said he would answer the letter and handleany not hiring a consultant. He also would contact Mr. Hull and Mr. Christensenegaorang easements. Chr. Matheson has received carbon copies of those letters. Mr. stated he had handled applications for outside funds before and would be happy application for B.O.R. funds. Matheson gave a brief report on a bike safety workshop held in Caldwell ,, a program being promoted by the State which will be taken to Caldwell concerning P ' schools this year for the first time. The School District voted to gr condition that any bikeway constructed would not conflict with the future opening of Oregon Street as presented in their proposal. Spring Clean-up - In the absence of Jackie Brooks, her report was given that she has contacted the Mayor but no date has yet been inteset. nd toShe contaca them until of organizations-which might participate but does each group take one specific t a date has been set. Councilman Raymond suggested project to complete and make it a bicentennial cleanup that would make a big impact with this Commission acting as coordinator. Gwen Reed was appointed to work with this committee. Widening of U.S. 30 between Nampa and Caldwell - Shirley Conger someortett ngrepdthatot at the public hearing on this project held February 25, 1 including an off road bikeway as proposed was voiced. Contact was made with citizens wishing the inclusion of such a bikeway asking them to submit written Y testimony. Petitions from College of Idaho and Caldwell High School students plus testimony from A.A.U.W. and this Commission were sent to the hearing officer. Discussion with Bill Sachs _following the hearing indicated that there really is not much chance of the project being completed without the bikeway included. Jefferson Junior High Complex study - Ken .Roberts reported that the task force F;'' d has toured the complex and that the three portions of the main building areThein worse shape than he had thought but that the outside sections are usable. Tree replacement - Bobbie Ranin reopedhasbeened outof resourceman, High School tennis courts - Shirley Conger reported that Mr. Moylan, principal of the High School, looked into the problem. The building superintendent and student janitors have spent a full day cleaning, sweeping, tightening nets, and generally readying the courts for spring use. Weed killer has also been ordered and will be applied as soon as possible to prevent weed growth around the edges. • He has not yet determined who is responsible for summer maintenence of the courts but will continue investigation.
