Present: Members - Roberts, Wallace, Rankin, Conger ex officio - Bauman, Raymond . , - . • , . t The meeting was called to order in the Council Chambers by /Ice Chairman Roberts. f 1L Minutes of :the April 19, 1976 meeting were approved as written and received by Commiesionimembers. . . if•-, Vacancies on Commission, - It was reported that one person oantacted thus far 1 would be willing to serve. Election - Vice Chairman Roberts stated that due to the four vacancies on the t ' , Commission he would prefer to continue as Vice Chairman until an election for . . , . Chairman can be held with new appointees in attendance. Commission members agreed to postpone election until the next meeting. • . . Downtown - Councilwoman Bauman suggested the Commission investigate the possibility I .: 1. '... of a mall type development for the Main Street area. No action was taken. 15 ,, Dixie Drain - It was noted there is- bulldozer activity on City owned easement just north of Linden. Councilwoman Bauman will investigate. A letter from Whittenberger Foundation requesting return of $5000 was read.(copy attached) [.., - Tree Replacement - Bobbie Rankin reported she has had no farther suocess in —: obtaining the information necessary for the series of articles from the Extension ' I „ , t Service. Bobbie presented the possibility of an ordinance requiring that no tree be removed from City right of way unless it is replaced. Commission purpose and responsibilities - A discussion was held conoerning possible directions to be taken by this Commission.
