BABE RUTH REPORT - Wayne Baines
Wayne Baines, President of Babe Ruth Baseball league, reported that their
league is very much in favor of having Luby Field's infield made into a grass
infield. The league has someone lined up to do the hydroseeding. Legion B
and Babe Ruth leagues would be the only leagues to use the field because of the
grass infield and the bases being set for baseball . No softball or little league
would be allowed to play on the field. Babe Ruth league would be responsible
for care of the infield. Commission felt that as long as Luby field is being
htilized mainly by the Legion B and Babe Ruth leagues and since the infield
has been in bad condition anyway to go ahead and meet with their request as
long as there is no expense to the City or Parks & Recreation departments.
