The proposalis to have the Recreation Dept. buy 1 team:;' heimd Lu ( there are 12 teams) for approximately 20 boys on a team at $20.00 a piece for $400.00 per team. A motion was made from the floor (and seconded) that the Farks & Recreation Commission submit to the City Council for approvalthe purchase of one teams NOC-CE approved football helmits for the Exchange Club sponsored Little League football program. `I1he cost being figured at $/1-07.00 per team (1 team m 20 kids at $20,00 per helmit) . After much discussion the notion was approved by a unanimous vote. SWIM REPORT - Rowena Roberge Ito reported that ihe .;w.t rn Team in sw I mml iv a t Lhe NPI O pool in conjunction with the Nampa swim team. The two teams are sh-+ ri n;; the expense of 1 coach but it is costing them $31.00 a day to use the NNC pool. Our swimmers are having to pay $30.00 each. She figures because of the cost to the individual swimmer they have lost a few swimmers and the number is down to between 9 & 11 swimmers from Caldwell. Nampa ham enough money left at the end of their year to subsidize their swimmers, but Caldwell doeun't and does not have the money available. Discussion followed Ro' s report and the Commission felt some type of subsidy should be provided for Lour Winter Swim program with the hopes that more children would be able to take advantage of the program. Different means of making money were suggested by commission members for Ro to take back to her club. /111141 PARKS REPOI T - Jess Payne Jess repr.ted that 280 feet of drain was tiled for the Wilson Park project. He hopes to get some bids out on the fence project and. restrooms. Six trees were taken out, due to Dutch Elm disease, Vandalism is still prevailing In the usual places. The Chief reported the Art Class had painted the wall coming down Rose Hill road. The kids did a very good job and everyone should see it before it falls to the clutches of vandals. Park ai.enets that ane closed June 1 t=t thru the summer mon fhs will ho opened back; up the 1st of Nov. and will be closed off again come June 1st.
