1 . Minutes of April 2016 Airport Commission Meeting
Motion was made and seconded to accept the April 2016 Minutes. Motion passed.
2. Airport Improvement Program — Toby Epler
Toby Epler reported that the electrical work on the taxiway lighting and sign project for
AIP28 is once again under way, the contractor picking up where they left off last fall.
On June 13th, the work will start on the first phase of the hot ramp/apron rehab, also
part of AIP28. This will be on the west third of the ramp, with this phase ending the
Wednesday before July 4th. The ramp will be open through the holiday weekend, and
with the next phase will begin shortly after the 4t . The fuel island will be available
throughout all phases of the project. Toby said they look to complete the entire project
around the first week of August.
Al Rice stated that it is likely Silverhawk will use the ramp at Hubler during the Apron
rehab project.
Toby reported they are also working on getting the AIP29 - Runway Rehab design
started, with surveyors and core sampling. This project will most likely involve milling
off the existing asphalt and re-paving the runway. The approximate shut down of the
runway will most likely be between 3 to 5 weeks, depending on what is found with the
sampling. This project is slated for construction in 2018, but the airport will be able to
accept funds early, if they become available in 2017. The millings will be recycled for
the shoulders and around the PAPI lights.
Barry Everett asked when Taxiway C will be completed all the way through. Toby
explained that this is not possible, due to the location of existing hangars. A question
was asked as to possibly building a vehicular road, to possibly reduce incursions. Rob
will look into it and report next meeting.

• 3.` Canal Relocation Update — Brent Orton
Brent reported that the building being done across Linden from Hubler Terminal will
increase the need for "Hypotenuse Way" to be built, which will require the canal to be
moved.
Brent reported that a deal has not yet been reached for an easement for the Priddy
land, but this is progressing. Other land negotiations are also needed.
In response to questions from members, Brent stated that although the canal will be
underground, farming will not be viable over the top, due to the elevation required.
4. Wall of Fame Committee Report
Barry reported that the trophy case for the Hubler display is almost ready for delivery to
Mike Reed's hangar.
He also reported that they received 2 or 3 names from the previous request in the
Airport News. Another request will go out in a future newsletter.
5. Buildable Lots Update — Rob Oates
Rob reported that Calvin Tabor's fourth hangar of the 4-plex he built is in process of
being sold. The other hangar Calvin is working on is going forward.
6. Announcements — Rob Oates
• 1st edition of Airport News in the new email format went out this morning.
Feedback is appreciated.
• During the upcoming apron asphalt project, the aircraft in the first two rows of the
tie-down area will need to be moved. If you know of anyone whose aircraft is
parked there, please let them know.
• There have been on-going issues with Gate #5. Repairs have been made, and
Mike Reed is investigating the issues. Resetting the gate when it is stuck closed
or open usually corrects the issue.
• The AWOS is now in operation and on the air, however there are still some
issues with extra tones and inaccurate wind readings. These issues have again
been called into the FAA.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:54 pm.
