'ieeting of the Caldwell Golf Course Board was held at the Elks at
12 :00- noon on October 8, 1980.
'.:embers present : Council-Liaison Gene Betts and Les Carter; Supt.
Gordy Crockett ; Rick Sweaney; Bill Ballantyne ; Red Pollard; Charlene
VanAuker; Laura Gamboa and Vivian Gunderson.
embers absent : Loris Navis unable to attend due to death in family.

Laura explained that this meeting had been called in order to discuss
the Pros ' salary and also what figures Rick Sweaney and she had discussed
at city hall on Monday in order to get more of an increase' for each Pro.
?he board approved the salary of ` 13, 000 for Keith ( 10 months ) .
Jeff 111,000 ( 12 months ) . Fairview is open all year. Purple Sage
closes the end of November and opens in February.
Rick Sweaney presented a bid from McGarvin Construction for a shed to
be built around the Pump-station at Purple Sage. Bid was in the amount
of 2, 088. Jim had stated that he would take two family season tickets
as part payment. Motion made , seconded and carried that we accept the
bid.
Laura asked the board how they would like to handle the check from the
Idaho Golf Angels that had been turned over by Red *Pollard of the Men' s
t1. ,ociation. The board voted to have Council-Liaison Gene Betts add it
to the Golf Receipts to be used for course improvements such as cart
paths etc.
There was a discussion on board attendance and according to the by-laws
less than 5M attendance a board member is to be replaced. Motion made
seconded and carried that George Weitz be replaced. Scott Holloway was
voted on by the board.
Laura had applications from the Whittenberger Foundation and asked Les
Carter if he would take care of it. The application is for a grant to
build a new clubhouse at Purple Sage which is badly needed.
Rick Sweaney brought up the fees and said he and Laura had gone over
these at city hall and felt that the add on should be increased 315. 00
This would make man and wife 3300.00 instead of 3285. 00. A single pays
210.00. The board asked Laura to check Warm Springs as they are the
other course with 18 holes. ( Public ) . Laura told the board to keep
in mind that people can play two golf courses for 'the price of one and
no other course offers this . This is to be voted on at next Wednesdays
meeting.
Laura mentioned to Gordy that she had received nothing but praise on
the condition of Purple Sage- board members all said the same.
Gordy stated that they are now cutting all weeds and have part of the
curbing in the parking lot and have taken the old white fence down also
have curbing there .
With no further business meeting adjourned at 1 : 00 p.m. Next meeting to
October 15- 7 : 30 p.m. Fairview Clubhouse.

to replace George Weitz on the board due to the lack of
attendance.
