Meeting of the Caldwell Golf Board was held in the Council Chambers at
t - ty Hall 7: 30 p.m. on February 1, 1978.
":embers present: Vice-Chairman Jim McGarvin, Loris Navis , Hugh Stringfield
Aerie Smith, Laura Gamboa. President of the Men' s Association Clyde Dippery
President of the Ladies Association Peggy Marchbanks , Supt. Gordy Crockett
2ro ,Heith Stanwood and Pro. Errol Genta.
Absent : Chairman Cook, Council-Liaison Pete Olesen and City Finance Director
Dor. Horan.
The board members wish to express their thanks to Mayor Pasley for having to
spend two hours waiting while they conducted their meeting, Mayor Pasley
ex^lained that Pete Olesen was the Council-Liaison and he would sit in the
background.
Minutes of the January 18 meeting were
given to each member. Minutes approved
as read.
Old Business :
Gerdy presented the plans for the cart storage with the few changes made by
committee and city engineer. Gordy said there would be storage space for 23
carts. 'lotion was made to write a letter to Mr. Horan asking him to take
the proper steps necessary so the cart storage could be built as soon as
pose blc . Motion made by Clyde Dippery and seconded Loris Navis , motion
carried.

at Purple Sage the board felt local architects should .be given a chance.
T.' ura Gamboa made a motion to contact the firm of Keys Olson & Ensley.
Seconded by Anne Smith, motion carried. Jim McGarvin said he would contact
them the first thing in the morning.
since we have the basic floor plans it was recommended that the building
committee meet with the architect and work out their plans .
Trdv was asked if he could run off some extra copies so that Clyde Dippery
eculd have some for his committee and extra copies for Doris Wiseman and
her committee .

e members all ,recommended a screen would be the answer to Dr. .Waterman' s
problems. Gordy said he thought he could get a screen installed for the
rice of two season tickets the board told Gordy to go ahead and do what
he wants but lets get it taken care of as soon as possible.
r-„w Business :
Horan and Mr. Morris met on January 27, 1978 with the Idaho Department
o`'• Parks & Recreation in Boise. This was for the purpose of getting a grant.
' r. Horan did apply for a grant for the sprinkling system as they were not
interested in the building of the clubhouse. So the next step will be to
go to Hud as soon as the architect and building committee have all the plans
and the estimated cost.

They felt that a person should have a new season ticket by the 1st. of March

purchase one later on they would either have to pay green fees or buy a
Punch Card. This would apply to everyone;
Laura made the motion, seconded by Loris , motion carried, Both Keith and Errol
id they would post a notice at each course and recommended that it be in
._e Caldwell Paper and the Statesman, thus giving the people a months notice.
Non' s Association:
President Clyde Dippery said that as yet the date hasen' t been set for
" Greet The Pro " but it will be sometime in March at the Elks Club.
There would be a no host cocktail hour, dinner would be $15.00 per couple.
This would be strictley -Social Affair ,no meeting as the election of officers
wo done in the Fall,

Per77y Marchbanks said she was sure the ladies would be happy to assist them
with "Greet The Pro" since the men have depleted their funds and the men have
always been very good about helping the ladies.
Keith Stanwood said he hoped with weather permitting Purple Sage could be open
by, the 20th of this month. He said its still very wet out there and carts
would not be allowed until it gets drier.
Keith mentioned that he has to have new carpet at the clubhouse as the other
is really in bad shape and someone could get hurt. Clyde Dippery said he
would check with a good friend and see if they would give us a good deal.
Laura made a motion for this, seconded by Anne Smith. Keith said he wanted
tot et by just as cheap as possible and perhaps that just a part of the club
would have to be carpeted. Gordy and Keith were to measure and call Clyde

Gordy reported that they have been painting the inside of the Pro Shop at
lurnle Sage. Also painting the Locker Room at Fairview.
Anne Smith asked if the big board on number one at Purple Sage could be
painted and have the correct wording. Caldwell Golf Board instead of Caldwell
L and of Control.
Discussion on parking at Fairview, it was decided that for the present time
there seemed to be plenty of parking and Errol Genta said he would watch it
this summer then we would know what is needed.
