':e huilding committee. Mr. Keyes had made some changes that all felt ti-o remodeling of the Purple Sage Clubhouse.After some discussion .. , r. .e asked what the cost of the remodeling would be and also what his t. . ; ci be. Keith mentioned that ee the, extension of the cart storage extra wiring had to be installed t rt to be about sixty dollars. .e, , n cook explained that the cement floor on the cart shed was left rough ucat of the committee for safety reasons. Clarence also explained teet It was impossible to match the paint without a long delay. Robert Pasley, Mayor Members of City Council Caldwell, Idaho Meeting of the Caldwell Golf Course Board was held in the Clubhouse at ,lurple Sage at 12: 00 noon on April 12, 1978. Members present : Chairman Clarence Cook, Council-Liaison Pete Olesen, Pro Keith Stanwood, Supt. Gordon Crockett , Anne Smith, Laura Gamboa. Mr. Don Horan Peggy Marchbanks and Clyde Dippery representing the two associations. Absent : Hugh Stringfield, Loris Navis , Jim McGarvin and Pro. Errol Genta. Minutes of the March 8 meeting read and approved as read. New Business: Chairman Cook introduced Lew Keyes the architect who had gone over the plans with the building committee. Mr. Keyes had made some changes that all felt would improve the remodeling of Purple Sage after some discussion Mr.Horan asked what the cost would be on the building and if this could be paid in three phases. The cost would be around ,$112, 000 and could be paid 3-3/4 preliminary drawings another 3-3/4 at the end of development construction and the balance of 10% at completion of job. Clyde Dippery made a motion that we accept this seconded by Anne Smith. Voting yes-Clyde Dippery, Laura Gamboa, Anne Smith, Peggy Marchbanks , Clarence Cook, Pete Olesen.Voting no- none . ,Motion carried. Clarence thanked Mr. Keyes for taking time out to go over the plans and said that the building committee would be getting in touch with him in the next few days. Keith Stanwood .reported that play had been very good. Old Fi.zsiness : The bridge between 10 & 11 still not taken care of. It was decided to just widen the bridge as this would be safer for the carts to use the same path as in the past.Gordy said he would see that it was taken care of. The cart storage discussion about the bird situation: Mr. Horan said that this could be taken care of by covering the rafters with plyboard. It was voted on to let Mr. Horan take care of this. Motion made by Laura Gamboa seconded by Anne Smith votes in favor Laura Gamboa, Anne Smith, Peggy :archbanks , Clarence Cook , Pete Olesen and Clyde Dippery. Votes against none. Horan said the cost of this would be about $520.00 Fairview Course : The section of the pro shop in need of new carpet also the remodeling of the counter.Clarence appointed Anne Smith and Laura Gamboa to work as a committee with him on whatever needs to be done at Fairview. Pete Olesen made this in a motion seconded by Clyde Dippery. Voting, in favor Pete Olesen, "Clyde Dippery , Laura Gamboa, Anne Smith, Peggy Marchbanks and Clarence Cook. . pposed-none. Motion carried. This committee would also run a poll at Fairview on golf carts as there have been some people that have said they would prefer to have their carts at Fairview. 2 Clarence Cook said he had received a letter from Mr. Lodge with some ideas r suggestions of landscaping the bank on number one fairway at Fairview. Council-Liaison Pete Olesen said that the cost was high and with all that had to be done the only way was to have Gordy and a man .work the bank and fill it in then seed it right away. Gordy was told to get this taken care of right away. Mr. Horan mentioned that in order to get the shrubs planted along the sides of the tunnel the cost would be $2000. 00 this includes the labor. Clyde Dippery made a motion that we go ahead with this seconded by Laura Gamboa. Voting in favor Clyde Dippery, Laura Gamboa, Anne Smith, Peggy Marchbanks, Clarence Cook and Pete Olesen. Against- none. Motion carried. The discussion of a marshall or ranger came up again for both courses on weekends and tournaments. Keith said this certainly would be a big help he said that Eagle Hills had hired a ranger as of April l ,and that he works on weekends and tournaments . The pay is $2.65 per hour also the use of a golf cart and free play. Chairman Cook was to check into this and see if he could get someone for each course. The two big signs were to be taken down and repainted with the golf rules also the correction on the bottom to read - The Caldwell Golf Course Board. The pro at Fairview is to instruct the ladies that start on number four that they must start on number one as there have been several complaints that if some people start on certain holes then anyone can start wherever they wish. /mtiSo to comply with the rules - number one it is.
