7eeting of the Caldwell Golf Course Board was held in the Clubhouse at
eyurr?..eSage at 12:00 noon on March 8, 1978.
Members present : Council-Liaison Pete Olesen, Chairman Clarence Cook
Pro Keith Stanwood, Pro Errol Genta, Supt. Gordon Crockett, Jim McGarvin
Loris Navis , Anne Smith, Laura Gamboa, Peggy Marchbanks and Clyde Dippery
representing the two associations and City Finance Director Don Horan.
Absent : Hugh Stringfield.
Minutes of the January 11 meeting read and approved as read.
R"inutes of the January 18 special meeting read and approved as read with
adding the word course to the Caldwell Golf Board the new By-Laws of
January 11 , 1978 show the correct reading as follows. Caldwell Golf Course Boa:
New Business :
Chairman Cook informed the board that there would be a change in voting it
would be done by roll call.
Old Thsiness :
' r . gran wasasked about the cart shed progress and he explained about the
split bid. After some discussion Loris Navis made the motion that the board
accept the bid of the Orchards Corporation of Boise to develope additional car
shed on an element bid, seconded by Anne Smith. Voting in favor were as
follows-Loris Navis , Clyde Dippery, Pete Olesen, Jim McGarvin, Laura Gamboa
Anne C,7ith, and Peggy Marchbanks. Votes No- None. Motion carried.

':cJarvin reported that he had talked to Lew Keyes on January 12, 1978.

?:eyes said he was interested but that he couldn' t give any costs until
he received the plans and went over them with the building committee.
Chairman Cook said he would get in touch with the other members and he would
711'-y0 an appointment with Mr. Keyes.
Cheeirman Cook asked Keith about the carpet and Keith said they had covered
e worn spots with the rubber pads and that the two bad spots he would have
rc : ,ai red as he felt that with remodeling plans in the near future that it
TcThi be unwise to get new carpet. The board complemented Keith on how clean
clubhouse was.
:e- th reported that play has been very good to date and if the weather holds

Monis Association:
Drpery reported that "Greet the Pro" would be on March 31 on a Friday
a + the Eibs. He said that cards would be mailed with the information to all
asked the board if he could be excused for the rest of the meeting as
he hada to return to work. Chairman Cook thanked Clyde and excused him for the
rest of the meeting.

Ladies Association:
Peggy Marchbanks said the ladies agreed to help the men with "Greet the Pro"
The asked the board if there was any chance of having the course closed the
first thursday of every month until noon. The board members felt that since
the front side is closed every thursday until the ladies have all started
hat it just couldn' t be done and left it up to Keith to work out the best
way to handle this. It seems that this is a question that comes up every year
Cart Storage :
'')iscussion on maintence of the sheds it was decided to let Gordy and his men
take care of this. The subject about the birds came up again and Clarence
said that the men' s association never picked up the free tin last year and
that he felt that the Orchards Corp. would' take care of it when they put
r the new shed. Loris Navis made the motion that Clarence go ahead and take
care of the matter, seconded by Anne Smith. Votes in favor Loris Navis ,
Tete 'lesen, Jim McGarvin, Laura Gamboa, Anne Smith and Peggy Marchbanks.

Fairview:
',- rro !: enta said that he would be having the first Pro-Am of the season on
1r7h 70. Errol said that Mr. Burrell is giving him cauite a hard time as he
eels that he doen' t have to pay the $30. 00 cart fee at Fairview since he
ncesn ' t have to pay for his golf. The board policy of the past has been no

Thairmtn Cook asked Mr. Horan if we could have a break down every month
on the golf operation, Mr. Horan said that Gordy receives a copy of the

0.„,Laura Gamboa asked if there wasen' t something in- the rules about-young
Fhi'.wren of certain ages not being allowed on the golf course or if in a
cart not allowed to get off the cart for the protection of the child.
It seems that more people are bringing young children to the courses this
sees to take care of baby sitting.
Yr. Horan said that they have a policy manual at city hall. Clarence asked
.Laura if she and Anne would take care of this. The proper information could
posted at both courses .
: ery reported that the fence had been installed at Fairview on number three
honed this would take care of Dr,Waterman' s troubles. Gordy said they
i z planted several more trees at Fairview and that all staked trees would
ta(77ed as well as trees under 6 ft. Gordy said that a fountain would be

Anne and Laura mentioned that the posts had not been put up at Purple Sage
hetwoen number 10 and 11, also that the board with course rules had not
been rainted as yet.
Laura had given Clarence a complaint from one of the golfers as he didn' t
arroove the way cart space was taken care of. After suite a discussion it
--c decided to have a committee check into it , Clarence appointed Jim and Loris.
