WOgK SESSION

The session was called to order at 7 : 30 p. m. in the Council Chambers.
Present were Chairman John Pilote, Don Tolley, Starr Parish, dud
Grant , Sob i�icnoles , Betty Ann Lodge, [•Zel Lewis , and Bob Carpenter.
Future expansion: of the impact area and the transportation study
were the topics or discussion .
`I'nose areas in which some interest has been noted are Highway 20-26
and near the Franklin interchange for industrial and freeway-related
commercial uses , the airport the land below the rim and east of
Canyon Hill . After a general discussion, Pilote indicated there
was not enough interest in tackling an evaluation of the impact
area at the present time and would put it aside until later.
iel Lewis reviewed the joint transportation study between 'Tampa,
Caldwell and the Idaho Department of Transportation to define and
relate traffic and arterials in and around the Nampa-Caldwell area .
Considerable work ha: been done gathering data for a computer model
on the basis of zoning,ing, population densities , employment, and income
level. With this information we should be able to project where
transportation is going as far as facilities are concerned in and
l around the cit`_es . One aspect of the study is to develop a set of
goals and objectives for the program coordinated with the Compre-
hensive Plan. Copies of a tentative draft were distributed to the
Commission members and any recommendations or comments enlisted.
A committee consisting of •Zel Lewis , John Pilote , Starr Parish and
;Job Carpenter r will meet and prepare a recommendation on the goals
and objectives for the April regular. P and Z meeting.
