HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-09-17 P&Z MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING emN P AND Z COMMISSION SEPTEMBER 19 , 1977 After the work session on the proposed zoning ordinance, a short business meeting was held . Present were Chairman Don Tolley, Bob Carpenter, Bob Nicholes , Starr Farish, LaMar Bollinger , Ralph Nyblad, John Pilote and Mel Lewis . The following items were con- sidered : Merle Fortik' s request for a special use Permit to add onto the duplex on the northwest corner of Beech and Ohio ( 3102-3104 Ohio) was discussed . He informed Commission members that the new owner was considering the addition of another unit at some time in the future and wanted assurance that this would be possible . It was determined that this location would be in an R-2 zone once the ordinance is enacted and a triplex would be allowed in that zone without a special use permit . Mr. Fortik stated he would convey this information to the owner, since she was in no hurry to begin construction. A public hearing date was set for October 20 , 1977 , for a special use permit requested by Whit Jones to operate a professional off- ice at 2005 S . Kimball Avenue . mhe cresent zoning is "B" Resi- dential . It is anticinated that the zoning will be 5-3 under the 9-6 new ordinance . John Pilote made a motion to permit Mr. Jones to have a public hearing on October 20 and the motion was seconded by Bob Carpenter. Motion carried . In further action by the Commission , members present authorized the following changes to be made on the proposed zoning map : 1 . The R-3 zone on the east side of Kimball Avenue should be extended south to the corner of Ash Street and east to Arlington . 2 . Block 60 of Golden Cate Addition is to be zoned C-1, Neigh- borhood Commercial . 3 . The extension of the C-2T zone on N. Kimball is to be made to include the northwesterly half of Block 41 of Dever' s Addition to the intersection of Denver and Kimball . 4 . The northeasterly half of Block 23 , Dorman' s Addition shall be zoned R-3 to include the Harrison-Frank Agency . Sylvia Robison ,,r" Secretary pro tem
