To Whom It May Concern;
Caldwell Transportation, School Bus Division, would like
to offer employee child care during the time the drivers
are driving school bus . The time involved would be approx.
7 AM until 8 : 45 AM, 11 : 15 AM until 12 : 45 PM, 2 PM until
4 PM Monday through Friday during the school year only.
Presently, drivers are paying regular day cares for a full
8 - 9 hour day for child care even though their job only
requires part time child care. Day care providers are
charging for a full day because it ' s not in their best
interest to fill child space with a part time child. At
present we would have a total of 6 - 7 children using this
service with the possibility of an increase with new
employees . Being able to advertise on_sight day care should
enhance our hiring of competent school bus drivers . Young
mothers with pre school children make excellent drivers
and is a good part time position for them.
Our new office facility will be delivered in August and will
have adequate space, equipped with a rest room and kitchen
area to provide an excellent area for child care. Caldwell
Transportation will employ a person strictly for day care
so will not have other duties during the time children are
present . Supervised indoor activities will be provided
while children are present.
I believe this service would provide us with the ability
to hire very competent local people to transport our young
people to and from school and should benefit the public
in a positive way.
