My name is Naomi Kay Rush and I would like to open a child care center to
be located at 4515 E. Ustick in Caldwell. I intend to lease the property
formerly known as Grace Bible School from Idaho One associates, who are
in agreement with this use of the property. I currently own and operate
"Kid's Corner Childcare" in Nampa, where I have been for three years. We
have a filled enrollment of 48 children, and I am in the process of selling the
facility. I believe there is a need for quality, licensed childcare in the area I
am interested in because of the nearby locations of the mobile home parks, as
well as the growth in the area. It is across the Blvd. from the new Wallmart
store, and with new growth, which means more employees in the area, there
is always the need for good childcare.
I intend to comply with all laws regarding a childcare operation, as I have
done with "Kid's Corner". I and my staff have complied with all of the
training, CPR and First Aid laws as well as criminal history background
checks that the state requires, and, in fact, we usually go beyond state
requirements in the area of child care, training and CPR /First Aid.
The new child care center, which would be called "The Kid's Club", is on
approximately two acres of ground which is well off Ustick road with ample
parking and playground area. The building is 3,600 feet, which, according to
the ratio of 35 square feet per child, should enable us to have an enrollment
of 75-100 children. We will have a staff that complies with the ratio the state
of Idaho requires.
The building itself is ideal for a daycare because, since it was formerly a
school, has all the needed classrooms, bathrooms, sinks, drinking fountain,
etc. necessary for operation.
As far as impact on the neighborhood, I can only believe that a well
maintained, well run daycare, could only enhance the area, as well as
providing a needed service to that area of Caldwell.
