Change of use from Existing Dwelling to Care Facility Date: August 16, 2000 The Engineering Department has received the above referenced request for a Special Use Permit and provides the following comments: 1. The existing property is connected to City sewer and water, but may be subject to additional connection fees if the proposed use increases demand on the City's sewer and water systems. 2. Any additional impervious area created by modifications to the existing structure and grounds must be dealt with in accordance with the City's Storm Drainage Policy. 3. The existing property has curb and gutter, but no sidewalk. The installation of a sidewalk will be required in accordance with the City Street Improvement Policy. 4. Fillmore St., Caldwell The CFD has met with the Applicant regarding this proposed use, as a group home, and inspected the premises. This house has good access to public roadways, fire hydrants nearby that can provide the required fire flow and good physical separation from adjoining structures. The house address is properly posted and visible. The Applicant has been advised of exiting requirements, the need for one 2A:10BC fire extinguisher and the installation of smoke detectors on each floor and in each sleeping area. The Applicant has informed us that the fireplace will not be used and that smoking will not be permitted inside the house. The CFD supports the Applicants' request. v
