February 22, 2003 RUFFED GROUSE RESEARCH CALDWELL, IDAHO 83605 MOTORCYCLE HISTORY PHONE - AREA CODE 208 SOCIO-ECONOMICS 459-8786 Steve Hasson Community Development Department City of Caldwell 621 Cleveland Blvd. Caldwell, ID 83605 Dear Mr. Hasson: I wish to voice strong objections to the request for re-zoning by Adelle Doty in cases ZON-29-03 and SUP-18I -03. This request is improper for the following reasons: Ash Street is already overloaded with traffic and the last thing it needs is multi-family or commercial traffic. Ash Street is too narrow and we often have to stop our car to let another car go by if a car is parked on either side of the street. There is no parking for multi-family or office traffic at this location. A multi-family or commercial business there will have a negative effect on residences in the area. This thus becomes a classic example of hurting the majority to benefit one person. It is not fair. There is a surplus of available office locations in town and there is no need to fracture a residential neighborhood to benefit one person's bank account. Everyone here purchased their home in good faith that our neighborhood will remain a residential neighborhood. To change the zoning to allow multi-family or commercial offices violates this trust we citizens have in our city government. There is no compelling reason for the city to change the zoning in our neighborhood. Without a compelling reason, zoning would never be changed. Sincerely, 1 /144-6777,b
