Re: Case No. SUP-248-05/VAR-29-05 City Cell Tower
Date: June 2, 2005
The Engineering Department provides the following comments concerning a Special Use Permit
request by the City of Caldwell to allow an emergency cell tower to be placed in a residential area
and a variance due to height restrictions. The site abuts Maple & Sylvan.
1. The existing 25-foot one-half width right-of-way along the Maple Street frontage does not
meet current City standards. The applicant will be required to dedicate an additional three
(3) feet as public right-of-way to meet City standards for a Residential street.
2. The applicant will be required to construct frontage improvements when and if the Maple
Street frontage is extended.
3. The design of the tower must be certified and sealed by an appropriately licensed
professional engineer.

Emergency Services Wireless Tower in Sylvan Manor Subdivision
Dear Ms. Guyer;
I have been informed the City Attorney will be unavailable for the continuation of the
above referenced matter before the Caldwell Planning and Zoning Commission on
August 9, 2005. The city hereby requests the matter be continued until the regular
Commission Meeting in September or October as you deem appropriate.

I feel you and the city council have gone too far in trying to put up the Microwave
Tower before having a public hearing.
1. Where is your environmental impact study? Are you exempt? Don't you
think it would be nice if you communicated with the people of the city of
Caldwell with a public notice before you put it up?
2. The radiation that is put off by this tower is unacceptable at any level.
3. The Green transformer that is on location North of the tower is listing
approximately 9 degrees. What study have you completed to find out what
is making it list?
4. Is the tower itself going to list after a couple of years?
5. The only way I will allow the tower to go up, is to reduce the tax base by
50% for the entire city for the next 10 years.
Do NOT put up this tower or any other tower any place in the city.
