The Transportation Department does regulate signs along the Interstate and will require an Outdoor Advertising permit for a Directional Sign for this sign. Please apply for this permit, if the City approves the sign, before the sign is placed. Assistant City Engineer City of Caldwell Engineering Department Ph: (208)455-3006 Fx: (208)455-3012 1 Memorandum To: Anne Marie Skinner, Community Development From: Robb MacDonald, Assistant City Engineer KIJ\ Tim King, Engineering Tech II Re: Case No. SUP-338-10 (Downtown off Premise Sign) Date: July 27, 2010 The Engineering Department provides the following comments concerning a Special Use Permit request by City of Caldwell for an off premise advertising sign. Located on City owned property, on the southwesterly side of Aviation Way approximately 3,350 feet south and west of the intersection of Linden Street and Aviation Way. NW 1/4 of Section 36 T4N, R3W. General 1. The sign shall be located out-side the public right-of-way. Aviation Way is classified as a collector with a one-half width right-of-way of thirty (30) feet. 2. No permanent structures shall be placed within easements. 3. The design of the sign must be certified and sealed by an appropriately licensed professional engineer 4. It shall be noted the proposed location of the sign lies within the APO-1 Zone and that this application shall be submitted to the airport commission for comment as part of any action by the Caldwell community development director, Caldwell planning and zoning commission or city council.
