RE: Change the Official Street Name Suffix for Portsmouth from Drive to 'may
Date: July 20,201 5
Requested Action: Approve the attached ordinance
'"he right-of-way known as "PORTSMOUTH" as shown on the official plat for Delaware Park
•v y has the suffix of"DRIVE". However,the official
Subdivision Na. l I.In.�t No. � At The Colonies hd
addressing for this subdivision listed the suffix as f AY"
According to Section 05-07-04(3) of the Caldwell City Code, a "DRIVE" is a street suffix
designated fora street generally meandering in an cast merest direction while,d WAY its a
`` generally meandering in a north-south direction.". Since

"P0RYI'SM0UrI'H" oleanders in a north-south direction, the street suffix should be officially
changed to the suffix of"WAY".
The US Postal Service lists this street as "PORTSMOUTH WAY", so to our knowledge no
address changes are necessary.
