CALDWELL URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY
March 6, 2001 - 12:00 noon
Caldwell City Hall Conference Room
The regular scheduled meeting of the Caldwell Urban Renewal Agency was held March 6, 2001 at
12:00 noon in the Conference Room @ City Hall with Chairman ElJay Waite presiding. The roll was
called: present were ElJay Waite, Mayor Garrett Nancolas, Mike Gable, and Leona Fouts.
Motion to approve the agenda, amended to reflect approval of the February 8, 2001 meeting minutes:

Old Business
Linden Sub Station Power Requirements
Mayor Nancolas presented the commission’s discussion and recommendation on the request from K &
L Development, Freehold Development, Caldwell Unlimited and CEDC, for financial assistance to
purchase 10 megawatts of power for new development off 20/26. (Reference minutes of 2/8/2001).
Motion to approve payment of 15% of the total cost for 10mw line into the URA area as discussed.

New Business
Presentation from VIA Trans
Kelly Fearless, Interim Director of Bus System, Phil Cushlan, Exec Dir of CCDC, Garret Nancolas,
Chair of VIA Trans presented a proposal to consider financial assistance in planning process for
Treasure Valley Regional Public Transportation (TVRPT). Caldwell’s participatory share would be
approximately $10-14,000. No immediate action required. Proposal will be considered at subsequent
meeting.
Financial Report
No invoices to approve. February bank statements not yet available. Motion to present February

General Discussion
Motion to endorse action of Chairman Waite in signing of the Community Development Block Grant
application, and direct the Chairman to provide copies to the board and invite Fred Cornforth to the
next meeting to further define our role in this grant. M/S/P Gable, Fouts
