Meeting called to order at 630 p.m.
1. Approved by consensus:Minutes for the board meeting on September 4,2014.
2. Y TED—Approved: Motion to approve the General Ledger report and bills for September 2014.

B. VOTED—Approved: Motion to allow Canyon Springs High School students to apply for student
cards for iPad e-book use only. (Palmer', tringfield)
4. Action Item:The Director and Board will create a list, including costs or estimates,of
infrastructure items to petition the city for funds,including the outdoor planter boxes,pipes,
A/C. The list will include items recently repaired or purchased using library operating funds.
S. VOTED—Approved: Motion to change the DVD checkout policy to a maximum of fire DVDs for a
period of one week. ( tringfield, Blackburn)
6. VOTED—Approved: Motion to allover a Food-for-Fines program for patrons who donate canned
goods worth$1 off fines up to$10 during the Reopening Week of October 19-25, 20 .4. (Smith,
Palmer)
7. VOTED—Approved: Motion to offer old, unneeded furniture and fixtures to the Veteran's
Group as determined by Lacey Welt. (Smith, Palmer)
8. VOTED—Approved: Motion to purchase and install work cubicle furniture for library staff up to
$6,500. (Blackburn, Beverly)

9. Action Item: Larry Blackburn will invite endowment representatives to the Children's
Department Reopening event on October 23,2014.
10. VOTED—Approved: Motion to close the library on October 23 until 6:00 p.m.for the Reopening
event preparations. (Blackburn, Palmer)
11. VOTED—Approved: Motion to allow up to$40,000 provisional funds for additional renovation
costs before the Reopening event on October ,2014,from the contingency account and
endowments as needed. (Blackburn, Beverly)
