6, FAA Proposed Rules for Policy on th�e Non-aeronautical Use of A'irport
Hangars - Marty Koch
In an addition to the agenda, Marty Koch brought up the topic of a recent FAA
circular on proposed rules for non-aeronautical �use of airport hangars. He stated
that thereis, currently a, commen't period on these proposed rules and invited any
in attendance that are interested to make comment. T'he cornment period was
previously set to close September 5t'
Rob Oates cited a recent publication of AORA as repoirting that the, FAA, as of
September 2 nd, has extended the cotTirnent period thirty days past the original
deadline. �Rob stated that he believes there i's very little change in this, circular
from the current rules that we've been workiing under. He said some see it as
perhaps a slight relaXation olf ternporary non-aeronaLlfical use upon FAA approval.
However, he 'IS Linsure what that approval process would entall.

7 Glity-owned,Hangar Update — Rob Oates
Rob Ciates, replor�ted that ari offer for the purchase, of the city-owned hangar at
50,17 Aviation has been received. Rob expla,ined some of the, plans, the purchaser
has for improvements and use of the hangar.

Kudos, to Silverhawk Avlafiori, 'who has recently OLIffitted al ir trucks with
the required orange & white, checkered safety filiags.
SlIverhawk Aviation has, also recently purchased an R66,Robinson turbine
helicopter, �putting 'thelir aircraft toltal at 13.
Sk,�down will have a large pubiliciIzed Jump weekend this month, September

A city crew has r&-painted all of the orange/yellow markings, on the
taxiways this past week. Therefore, Iri the, last two months, all the; airport
markings, except ,thel fie-idowns, have been repainted with glass beads.
The Previously discussed hangar with 'trash outside, which 'is, on city-owIned,
nondeased land:, was, posted with a 48-h0Ljr notice, foir rernoval of the
debris. A city crew has since removed the pill e.
Updatestothe Caldwell Airport's entryin the Airport/Facliffies Directory are
being prepared and will be submitted, pending installation of the sidewalk
which will make Use ofthe Hubler Terminal ra,mIp more practical for larger
aircraft.
Brent Orton, Mayor Nancolas & Rob Oates will be attending the Monitana
A`rport Management Association meefing Iin Helena, Mointana, the end of
this monI ortUrlity for' Brent and the Mayor to meet
some ofthe FAA personnel
