Meeting Notes

Attendees: Dick Anderson, Chris Batt, Bob Carpenter, John McGee, Stephanie Rohrdanz, Keri

1. Fund Raising
Keri and Bob need $4500 more to reach goal. Keri will update next week on SWITTA grant. Bob getting
Rotary Club donation.
2. Roger Brooks
Contract - -Keri will call Becky at RB office for revised contract.
Destination Caldwell should not move forward with RB contract until Plaza is designated by ECURA.
3. CEURA Meeting Aug 5 (Note meeting time has changed to 2pm to accommodate Chamber
luncheon. The meeting will still be held at the Canyon County Administration Building (111 North 1P
Avenue, Suite #130) in the Public Meeting Room).
John will request plaza designation by saying 'you asked us to get design fees. We have done what you
asked - -have gotten them from Roger Brooks as well as private funding for him from a broad, supportive
local community.'
RB will conceptually design plaza. Then we will work together to keep construction costs in line. We will
coordinate with the ECURA and the City as the work progresses.
Remind ECURA that plaza will add more economic development for business downtown (more than a
park in outer Caldwell).
4. Undergrounding power lines at alley behind plaza
John and Bob talked to Greg Evans at IPCo and he said it may be $500- 600,000 to do 2 blocks and $250k
to do just the plaza section, and property owners would need to make some upgrades. IPCo will do
detailed estimate to be completed in couple of weeks. Bob to follow up with IPCo.
S. Plaza site demo update
Asbestos removal almost complete.
6. MISC
Stephanie John to meet with Mike Pollard next week.
John and Scott to meet with Terence Biggers next week.
Bob to call Dennis Callsen to thank and encourage.
