Meeting Minutes (06/24/2014)
Present: Liz Godina, Ron Bonneau, Julie Yamamoto, Dawna Laird, Shane Bauges, Kim Ivacek,
Joyce Davis, Collette Sanders, Debbie Geyer, Nancy Shelstad, Ken Wein, Donna Shines, Josh
Williamson
Meeting called to order 10:06 a.m.
Past Minutes: Motion /Julie Yamamoto Second/ Joyce Davis to approve minutes of
04/29/2014 as presented.
Old Business: Progress report; Youth Forum 2014, Registration update
• Caldwell High, 23 students invited, 10 have responded they will attend.
• Canyon Springs, 5 invited, 4 responded they will attend.
• Vallivue High, 26 invited, 19 responded they will attend.
• COSSA students to be invited, depends on other schools responses. Transportation details
unknown at this time.
Donations $750 to date
Committee reports:
Team Building update from Josh, working on skit, then will follow up with students (consequences,
resources) Scheduled for after lunch.
Lunch Activity update from Joyce, open end questions, encouraging social exchange.
Survey update from Donna, shared the questions to follow up with students and would like to get input
from the students on what we will be able to use next year.
Report Youth Survey Results
Update from Julie Yamamoto: students want to have a sense of belonging, sense of competence, being
able to make connections with adults. Would like see a student make closing statement with what they
may be able to with what they have learned that day. (provide packet with opportunities, resources)
Bank on Program: Debbie is still working with banks to get criteria on starter accounts.
New Business: Health and Wellness Promise
Debbie attended a summit in April in Boise, handouts provided with events happening
throughout the treasure valley. Goal is to get local activities on the agenda for next year.
Dawna Laird discussed ideas on a community wide health fair.
Bring ideas to next meeting to next meeting or programs that may already exist that we can
add to the `unplug' brochure.
Debbie to contact H &W to invite to next meeting.

Next Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 22nd at 10:00 a.m., Caldwell Police Department Community Room.
