Old Business
1.Vallivue High School speed limit and crosswalks -Brian (SEE PREVIOUS MINUTES)
Striping Plan is complete.Waiting on estimates for Flashing Beacons.
Action:Robb will provide Vallivue High School principal with an estimate of cost for flashing
beacon lights at both crosswalks.
2.Caldwell Youth Ranch Driveway on to S.Georgia -Kuykendall-Carry to December agenda
Robb met with local YR store manager requesting closure of S.Georgia driveway in exchange for
widening Cleveland Blvd.driveway.Local Manager will talk to upper management and get back to
Robb.
Action:Robb waiting for response from Youth Ranch Stores management.
New Business
1.Request Traffic signal at 9th Street and Blaine -Larry Harmon (Discrimination Complaint)
The above intersection is an open intersection with no reported pedestrian strikes.Those conditions
do not warrant a traffic signal under the national standards.
The City observes this roadway but it is ITD's jurisdiction.A letter will be sent to Mr.Harmon
explaining the position of the Traffic Commission and provide him contact information should he
wish to pursue his request further.
Action:Tammy will send correspondence to Mr.Harmon.
2.Request for STOP Signs in Montecito Park -David Bowman
Mr.Bowman sent a request for multiple STOP signs in Montecito Park to the Mayor.In the Mayors
absence Brent Orton replied to Mr.Bowman and is waiting to hear back from him at this time.
Resource/Weather Pending Business:-
1.Heritage Charter School restriping of road for left turn lane.Add a patch of asphalt to the
North side of Ustick road from Heritage Charter driveway east for 245'taper.
2.School Crossing and Speed study on 10lh
3.Homedale and Indiana Avenue intersection -Roundabout/re-design.
(CHD4 will design this year and implement in 2014)
4.Ladder Style Cross-walks at major intersections.
5.Add lighting and additional Ladder-style crosswalk on Indiana in front of CHS.A Contractor
will install footings and Matt (Street Dept)finish light installation.
