Meeting Minutes (07/23/2013)
Members Present: Liz Godina, Debbie Geyer, Donna Shines, Kent Noethe, Shannon Ozuna, Anita Andy
Cater, Ron Bonneau, Ken Wien
Meeting called to order 10:05 a.m.
Youth Forum Update
Debbie handed out an update from Brittanie on invitation responses, see attached. Sample bracelets in
3 colors were passed around the table.
Update on phone call from Derrick Boles: He is planning a community challenge drive, Sept 28 at the
Idaho Center. Derrick was interested in putting up a booth at the forum for his material. It was decided
to insert brochures in the student's bags instead.
Discussion on Education and Workforce Readiness Goals
Ideas discussed were:
➢ Resume writing for student
➢ Increase awareness on post secondary options
➢ Volunteer /internship opportunities around the city. Debbie will follow up with City of Nampa to
get some ideas from an existing program.
➢ Follow up with local businesses (VHS, CHS, Simplot, C of I, Canyon County, WVMC)
➢ Contact Dept of labor to discuss workshops offered at next meeting. .
➢ Fire Dept has a group of senior citizen volunteers, they can possibly follow up with students
regarding goal setting/ achieving, check lists

Room.
