We all introduced ourselves and became somewhat acquainted with one another. The Mayor introduced Mandy DeCastro, an America's Promise representative. She talked quickly about the grant we have received to help with McCall's council. We are looking for the interaction between the two groups to start off near the beginning of the year. Mandy also talked of the background information on America's promise. It was founded in 1997 in Philadelphia and it was intended to make the youth a national priority. We moved on to get our bylaws approved. All voting members raised their hands when asked to approve the new bylaws and all agreed with the answer being yes. The bylaws were to be signed by the executive committee in order to be completely approved and finished. Debbie went on to talk about the trip to Nashville witch starts on Tuesday December l Oth. They will be taking vrith them the book of profiles, the bylaws, our new banner that was posted at the meeting, and pamphlets. Next the mayor reminded us of "Pipe dream park," 65 acres of ground which will soon be made into our very own park. Work for the master plans of this park will start in ,January. The mayor wants input from people who skateboard or ride BMX—for the overall lavout of the park in those areas. Sign-up sheets were passed around if anyone . was interested. The mayor also informed us that a contest would be conducted to find an actual name for the park. A sponsored name drawing will take place in local elementary and middle schools. This will help us to be more involved with the younger students of our community, A committee is formed to help conduct the naming of the park. Sara Aleci , a, Zach, Catalina, Syble; Stacey, and Christy were all on the committee. The committee was formed with a motion by Chris, the second motion came from • Xanthy. -- --- ------- Remindr of thChristmas parade went out: They were to meet at 0' Conner Field House at 4:30 pm.
