Meeting Minutes (09/25/2012)
Members Present: Liz Godina, Andy Cater, Donna Shines, Kent Noethe, Debbie Geyer
New Member: Anita Wilson, Caldwell High School Principal
Meeting called to order 10:05 a.m.
Updated YMP contact sheet updated, copies given to members.
Brittanie is still interested in continuing with the committee. Time of meeting may need to change in the
near future to accommodate member's schedules.
Update from Kent Noethe:
• Caldwell and Brown Bus have been working together for transportation services to the Y.
• Teen nights at the Y, attract 400 to 500 school aged kids. Would like to see fire and police
presence interacting with the kids and activities.
Update from Andy Cater: Andy reported the stand at the fair was a great success. Would like to see
more committee members attend next year. Also suggested putting packets together next year.
Liz Godina to invite Chief Allgood to next meeting to discuss PAL activities and other police
sponsored activities.
Anita Wilson advised she is working on tackling traffic issues around the high school before
and after school.
Discussion on bullying campaign. Follow up with student council to get going with this
campaign, posters throughout halls, PSA's on cougar news. Discuss possible bullying
awareness committee with Wilson Elementary principal, Mr. Raney. Bullying campaign to be
referred to as The Kindness Project: Community of Kindness.
Community Calendar on city website: increases activity /events in community calendar. Can
be used as a tool for public safety to be aware of what events are going on throughout the
city.
Discussion on increase in police patrol of bus stops and off campus social gatherings.
Update from Brian Billingsley (via phone call) :
Ride bike to school, first Wednesday in May, Walk to school, first Wednesday in October.
Bike and pathway planned event scheduled for May 2013 rather than this fall.
Meeting adjourned 11:25 a.m.
Next Meeting scheduled for October 23rd at 10:00 a.m., City Hall.
