EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PLAN
TRUSTEE MEETING
HELD ON May 3, 2010
The meeting was called to order by Monica Jones at 3:05 p.m.
Those in attendance: Monica Jones, E1Jay Waite, and Mary-Kaye Stewart
DISCUSSION ITEM(S):
• Reviewed financial reports as of March 31, 2010. Reports included balance sheet,
income statement, and bank statement.
• E1Jay will send the balance sheet and income statement to Department of
Insurance.
• Nate Marshall from Moreton & Co. met with ElJay and Monica to discuss the
renewal process.
• o Nate reported that the City's large claims appeared to be age related
rather than preventative
o We will setup a workshop with city council to discuss cost saving
measures and wellness strategies for the future
o Nate will have renewal information to us by June 2010
o Nate will look at having Benefit Managers administer our COBRA rather
than Blue Cross for costs savings
o Nate will have Delta Dental run reports in order to review preventative
care information
o We requested that Nate arrange a meeting with representatives with
VEBA to review HSA plans
• Nate delivered executed copies of the Administrative Services Agreement and
the Amendment to Administrative Services Agreement with Blue Cross. Mary-
Kaye will file these agreements with the City Clerk.
MOVED by Monica Jones, SECONDED by E1Jay Waite to adjourn at 3:20 a.m. and
schedule the next Trustee Meeting for July 19, 2010 at 9:00 a.m.
Those voting yes: Unanimous.
