HELD ON JULY 27, 2009
The meeting was called to order by Monica Jones at 3:45 p.m.
Those in attendance: Monica Jones, ElJay Waite, and Mary-Kaye Stewart
DISCUSSION ITEM(S):
• Reviewed financial reports as of June 30, 2009. Reports included balance sheet,
income statement, and bank statement. All accounts are balanced.
• Reviewed the renewal for Blue Cross, which included a 4.3 % increase in
administrative costs. The Mayor prepared a letter to Jerry Dworak at Blue Cross
to request that they reconsider this increase. Jerry sent a response letter which
indicated that they would agree to forgo the 4.3% increase.
• • Reviewed the renewal for Delta Dental, which included a 9% renewal increase in
administrative costs. Nate Marshall at Moreton & Co. was contacted and he will
review this increase with Delta Dental. Should Delta Dental refuse to reconsider
this increase, Nate will review the option to insure through Blue Cross.
• Idaho state law has been revised to allow dependents to remain on employees'
coverage up to the age of twenty-five (25) if they are dependent on their parents.
A letter will be prepared for the employees to provide verification that their
dependents are eligible for coverage in accordance with Idaho state law.
• Blue Cross has partnered with State of Idaho Health & Welfare to provide
vaccines. Nate at Moreton & Co. is reviewing how this partnership will affect the
City's self-funded health plan.
• Hartwell sent the Renewal Application for the Employees Benefit Liability
coverage to be completed by E1Jay and Monica.
• Reconciled premiums received and claims paid for the months of April, May and
june.
MOVED by Monica Jones, SECONDED by E1Jay Waite to adjourn at 4:15 p.m. and
schedule the next Trustee Meeting for October 26, 2009 at 9:00 a.m.
Those voting yes: Unanimous.
