Request Red Curbing at Corner of Marble Front and Midvale Ave. (Anne Marie) Anne Marie submitted a request for red curbing at the above intersection to enforce the 40' site triangle. This intersection is next to Van Buren Elementary School. Drivers on Marble Front had parked so close to the intersection that Ms. Skinner, on Midvale Ave., could not see in either direction to pull out onto Marble Front Road. The Traffic Commission agreed unanimously to approve the request. Action: Gordon Reed: Place the request to paint the above intersection curbing per state code to insure the 40' site triangle. The Traffic Commission agreed that future requests for curb painting of a Commercial nature may be addressed without putting them on the Traffic Commission Agenda. Such matters are addressed in the State Code and therefore do not require the attention or opinion of the Traffic Commission. If there comes a Commercial request that is unusual or unique in nature it will, of course, be brought to the Traffic Commission. All Residential requests should still be considered by the Traffic Commission on an individual basis. Commercial curb painting will be per State Code. General guidelines are as follows: 20' Commercial driveway 40' Public ROW intersection to protect the Vision Triangle. Resource/Weather Pending Business Heritage Charter School "School Zone" and restriping of road for left turn lane. Currently on hold in order to complete other pressing projects 1. New HAWK crosswalk on 10lh Ave at Elgin. Removal of existing crosswalks in front of Paul's Market and at Freeport Street. Brent will review plans and schedule construction time 2. Homedale and Indiana Avenue intersection -Roundabout/re-design. Reflective material was installed on signage by Street Dept. Robb looked into the cost of flashing lights with solar and the cost is approximately $9K for 4 lights. Robb will have staff research power availability at the location and the cost of non-solar lights. 3. Marble Front/Illinois crosswalk relocation Manpower issue to begin project
