CALDWELL, IDAHO 83605 - TEL: (208) 455-3021 FAX 455-3003 Caldwell Depot Facing Seventh Ave. (1906) HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Meeting of May 5, 1998 Idaho Room, Caldwell Public Library The Historic Preservation Commission met in the Idaho Room of the Caldwell Public Library at T:00 P.M., Members Present: Elaine Leppert, Tom Ensely, Chris Nye, Jan Boles, and Bill Gigray III. Members Absent: Steve Maughan and Rick Wells Com=nunity Development Staff: Bud Knickerbocker Call To Order: The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Leppert at 7:00 p.m. Old Business: Approval of Agenda: A motion to approve the agenda was made by Commissioner Ensley and seconded by Commissioned Nye. Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the minutes was made by Commissioner Nye and seconded by Commissioner Boles. Membership: Elaine Carpenter has submitted a letter to Mayor Nancolas asking that she be placed on the Commission. A motion to approve her appointment and a recommendation to the City Council was made by Commissioner Gigray and seconded by Commissioner Ensley. HISTORIC PRESERVATION -1- . Change of Meeting Time and Date: Meetings will be changed to the second Wednesday of the month and will still be at 7:00 P.M. � New Business: Report on Committees: Cleveland Boulevard Committee: This committee will be meeting with the Mayor and Linda James and will present information to the Commission at the next regularly scheduled meeting. Historic Preservation District Boundaries Committee: Mary Parsons and Jack Harr will be working on establishing the boundaries of the District. � Repointing Committee: This committee will be meeting to discuss the repointing of the mortar on the depot. Survey Report: The survey is being conducted and will include Everett and Filmore only. The survey will be done by August 15, 1998 and a slide presentation will be shown in the library in September or October. The consultants were given a letter by Linda James explaining why they are surveying the neighborhoods. Discussion of Preservation Issues: None were discussed at this meeting. Next Meeting: The next meeting is scheduled for June 10, 1998.
