ROLL CALL: Present: Chris Nye, Wm. F. Gigray, III, Elaine Leppert A.bsent: Melvin Mc Clain, Rick Wells, Carol Burbank, Tom Ensley, Steve Maughan and Roy Payne 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: September 12, 1996 Minutes were passed by the Commission with unanimous approval. 3. OLD BUSTNESS: Wm. F. Gigray, III reported that the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce did not e.�cpress any interest in moving into the administrative offices of the Depot (attached to the Minutes is a letter of Steve Maughan of September 17, 1996, and memo of Wm. F. Gigray, III of October 8, 1996). 4. F`r 96 GFZAIv'T - vVASHINGTON HEIGHTS tiDDITION: Susan Stacy gave an interesting and informative report on her comprehensive survey of Washington Heights Addition. 5. NEW BUSINESS: - The Commission discussed the possibilitv of creating a historic district including the areas of Blaine, Cleveland Blv�., Dearbom, Everett and Fillmore. 6. The Commission wishes to e.Ytend its support for such a move if it should occur. The Commission has undertalcen some improvements to the building to insure che integritv of the structure is maintained and to enhance its appearance. The Commission loolcs fonvard to �vorlcing «zr.h the To�t��nsite Committee and the Chamber of Commerce ir it is determined that anv remodeiing is to be cione. The Commission's concern is to protect the architectural inte�ritv of the buildin�. The Commission can provide the Chamber and To«�nsite committee «�ith technical assistance in this regard �vhen it is time to stan planning For anv changes to the building.
