The October 27, 1994 mee*.ing of the His�ric Preservatien Commission was calted to order i.n
the Caldwell City iabra�y Idaho Rcom at 7:00 p.m. Biil C-igray o�ered a Motion to approve
the Minutes ot the August me�ting. Carol Burbank szcanded the Motion which passed
un�ousiy.
Liz reported tt�.t our FY95 grant agplication had be� :ncluded in the list of potential gra�ts
which was attached for the Commission s iniorm.ation.
Conce� the Community Workshop, it appears that eit�er of t�he last tsuo w�.�ds of
April will be convenient, deae�ding on the co�sultant's schedule. Liz expl�ed that while we
can contact a potential cons to make preliminaty ar�augemeats, we cannot definitely
offer the project until the grant is officially approved, usuatly l�r ia November.
Bill Gigray said that at the neYt m�tisig we should put a design t�gether as to what needs to �,
be done to make the Depot a viable proposition. The more people to use the Depot, the �
better chauce of suivival it has. E]aine Le�pert volunte�ed to put together a sample use
P��Y for the Commissian to evaluate.
Steve said that Tom F�sl.ey should be contacted on possible site plans aud s�enderings for the
1iShtin.g and other �ions of rhe psnject. . '
The survey project porrion of the FY95 grant wi11 be put out to irid as soon as the graut is
off"ic:i�llally approved.

civic group that might be iu�rested in reating the buildings for me�etings or canfer�ces could .

such activities.

It was agreed to obtain a list of civ�ic osganizations within the City with a view to contact
` them conc�.i.ng possible use of the buitdi�. It was also suggested that someone like
Madeline Buc'cendorf or other interested pacty lcok at the buildi.ng and evaivate how it could
best be redecorated and �odernized a� opt�mize its poteatial for use. Carol offered to look at
the inside and see what �`�e might suggest.
Due to holidays and contli.cts the ne�t meera.ng will be he!d Thursday December 8, at the �
Caldwell Library.
