HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES Mesting of January 31, 1992 The meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission of January 31, 1991 was called to order in the City Hall Conference Room by Chairman Chuck Randolph at 7:00 p.m. Present: Chairman Chuck Randolph, Bill Gigray III, Nathelle Oates, Tom Ensley, Madeline Buckendorf, Art Honey anci Dennis Crooks. The first item of business involved the minutes from the January 3, 1991 meeting. Bill Gigray III moved to approve the minutes. Tom Ensley seconded the motion and the minutes were unanimously approved as submitted. ; The next item on the agenda involved a review of the Historic component to the City's Comprehensive Plan. There was discussion and consideration of minor revisions to the obJectives section and also the implementation/policies section of the component. Dennis Crooks indicated that the changes would be incorporated into the written document and redistributed to the Commission for review at the next meeting. The next item on tne agenda was a review and update of the 1991 grant appl�cation. Dennis Crooks indicated that oniy one positive r�sponse had been received from the list of c�nsultants invited to applv for the project. Additional discussion occurred pertaining to the scope and objec�ive or the study and specifically whether intensive research on �he history of Cleveland Boulevard was feGsible. After same deliberation, it was the consensus of the Commission to place the focus of the study on the survey of historic sites and buildings 3nd that research on Cleveland Boulevard should not be erriphasized. Also, it was indicated that the historic significance of Cleveland Boulevard was sometning that could be pursued independent?y by the Commission. The Commission then began to discuss the selection process of the sites to be surveyed and criteria to be utilized. It was noted that some of the residences had been physically altered which may have had an effect on the structure's architectural integrity. � Also questioned, was whether architectural significance or I historic significance should have priority when choosing survey I candidates . Dr�ft site lists were then reviewed. Dennis i indicated he would consolidate the list of addresses and prepare and distribute a new list to the Commission members. 1 � � � � .
