HISTORIC PRESERVATION CONIl�IISSION MINUTES
Meeting of November 1, 1990
The mesting of the Historic Preservation Commission of November
1, 1990, was callsd to order in the City Hall Conference Room by
Chairman Chuck Randolph at �:00 p.m.
Present: Chairman Chuck Randolph, Bill Gigray III, Sylvia
Robison, Tom Ensley, Dennis Crooks, and Teri Brandt-Ottens.
Minutes as distributed for the meeting of October 4, 1990, were
unanimously approved as submitted.
The first item on the agenda involved old business. Dennis
Crooks updated ths Commission on correspondenc� received from the
State Historic Preservation Office rsgarding grant'applications.
Processing and review of the 1989/1990 survey project has been
completsd and the City can expect.receipt of grant funds shortly.
The 1990/1991 grant proposal was also accepted with the
contingency that no repetitive survey work be done along the
Cleveland Boulevard corridor.
The remainder of the agenda was devoted to the task of .preparing
an Historic component to the City's Comprehensive Plan. Chuck
Randolph informed the Historic Commission of their role as sub-
committee of the Comprehensive Plan update as appointed by the
Planning and Zoning Commission. Jennis then Brcvided the
Historic Commission with an overview or the update process and I
the role of the P1an as a long range planning tool for the '
community.
The Commission then discussad the concept of identirying and
mapping areas of historic significance and also some possible
goais, obJectives and policies of the plan comoonent. '?'he rules
and by-Iaws of Caldwell's Historic Commission and historic
components from other ldaho communities saere reviewed extensive:y
and served as a basis for extracting information pertinent to

Dennis and Teri compiled a iist of possible goals, objectives and
policies as suggested from the group. Denni� indicated he would
prepare a draft component and distribute a copy to the Commission
prior to the next meeting.
The regular meeting of December was canceled due to a conflict
with a special meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission. A
special meeting in the month of December was discussed with a
specific time and place yet to be determined. Chairman Randolph
indicated he would foilow-up on the sgecial meeting date.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
