HomeMy WebLinkAbout7-6-1989 CHPC MINUTES � ..� �-�,:� . � � I � HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES July 6, 1989 , i The meeting was called to order at 7:�JP1 p.m. by the Chairman, Tom ', Ensley. Present were Nathelle Oates, Sylvia Robison, Chuck � Randolph and Art Honey. Absent were Teri Brandt, Gregg Lovan and Gary Mee. ' Nathelle Oates informed the Commission that the DAR has taken on a video tape project. The tape contains 47 minutes of early Idaho history through 1965 and will be made available for $55.Q10 to interested parties or groups. The cost to schools will be $52.38 and the Library will receive a copy. Anyone who would like to screen the tape should contact her. Sylvia reported that the first phase of the survey of historic properties (Northwest Caldwell) has been completed except for submission of the reimburaement request to the Idaho State Historic Preservation office. Time sheets were distributed and � she said she would get with each member and help them fill in the volunteer hours. Copies of the survey information will be kept on file in the Engineering and Planning office and in the public library. In addition, the slide show presented by Elizabeth Egleston will be given to the library and made available to the public. Discussion ensued about what area should be considered for the next historic property survey for which a matching grant would be applied. Boundaries proposed were from Main or the railroad, - southeasterly of 1(dth to Fillmore or Grant, and over to about 22nd. Maps will be furnished for the August meeting so definite boundaries can be established and the Commission will then divide up into teams to begin a preliminary survey of the area. ' The Planning and Zoning Commission is hoping to have a draft of ', the Comprehensive Plan update ready for public hearing in I 5eptember. The Historic Preservation Commission has been asked ' to have some input into the update and Art Honey agreed to write , up a few paragraphs. Policies and plans for historic diatricts will be proposed to be included in the Plan. j Tom reported on National Town Meeting workshops that will be I �'I coming up this fall and next spring and asked Commission members � to be thinking about who might be able to attend.
