Caidwell City Police Station Bond Committee Meeting Minutes February 15, 2Q00 Present: Chief Bob Sobba, Christopher Green, Dave Wright, Wayne Eisenbrandt, Tony Ozuna, Jim Hitt, Sami Schmitt, Allan Laird, Fred Com#orth, Jesse Floyd, Elaine Carpenter, Bob Carpenter, Casey Crookham, Estelia Zamora, Rod Endow, Valinda Gabbard, John Bujak, Katie Roach, Carla Shields, Ryan Buhler, Bill Norman, Efjay Waite, Rick Wells, Gary Maybon, Mayor Nancolas and Dr. Glen Basey. Absent: Dale Peterson, Dr. Rich Bauscher, Bob Larson, Dee Child, Chuck Randolph, Bud Way, Dennis Calisen, Patty Mickelsen, Tim Spencer, Helen McKinney, Rit� Earl, Margaret Langan, Theima Carpenter, Mary Ann Grimm, Dr. Wili Black, Danny Ozuna, Dr. Kevin Leamed, Gilbert Hafen, Jesus deLeon, Amy Stahl, Dennis Bergvail and Vaughn Heinrich. The Meeting was called to order by Dr. Basey at 12:05 p.m. The minutes from the previous committee meeting on the 24�' of January 2000, were not read. AD HOC COMMITTE� WRAP-UP REPORTS Finance Committee Revenue $4,795.00 Expenses 4 295• Excess $ 500.00 A discussion was held to determine where the excess funds should be dire�ted and after many motions on both the part of the Mayor and Chief Sobba, it was decided by Chief Sobba to send the funds to a scholarship that could be given to someone in High School with it's use being for college. With no mation made to direct the funds, fihe +ssue was called to vote and it passed unanimously. Police Activities Committee Chief Sobba thanked everyone for their hetp in making this a very happy outcome and read a letter sent to him by a vater who was just asking when the shovels could be handed out to dig the new facility. Mavor Nancolas The maycN spoke of thanks to everyone and stated that this election was more than a vote for a new police station, it was a vote of confidence for a new vision in Caldw�ell that will estabtish her position in the future. We came together to help Caldwell grow• The youths from the Mayors Advisary Council were given a round of applause for their support. Meetings have been going on befiiveen the architects and the aty and plans will be forthcoming. Thank you again for your support- 4 . a i ' • Police Station Bond Committee Meeting Minutes 1-24-00 Page 2 Yote� Reaistration Allan Laird reported on the voting statistics utiliz�d in this campaign. 2700 Votes Pinpointed for Voter Tumaut 2469 Voters were idenfified from Voter Registrafion Lists 1480 Voter Reminder Cards Mailed out 2055 of the 2,469 Voters identified voted yes in this election Allan introduced Carla Shields who was given a big round of applause for all of her work as a Secretary with the Caldwelt Police Department. Chair Dr. Basey thanked all of us and quoted someone in the community who told he that he had put together'The Right Committee to do things in CaldweN", Another time will come for a!I of us to wqrk together again.
