Caldwell City Police Station Bond Committee
Meeting Minutes
February 15, 2000
Present: Chief Bob Sobba, Christopher Green, Dave Wright, Wayne Eisenbrandt, Tony Ozuna,
Jim Hitt, Sami Schmitt, Allan Laird, Fred Comforth, Jesse Floyd, Elaine Carpenter, Bob
Carpenter, Casey Crookham, Estell� Zamora, Rod Endow, Valinda Gabbard, John Bujak,
Katie Roach, Carla Shields, Ryan Buhler, Bill Norman, Eljay Waite, Rick Wells, Gary
Maybon, Mayor Nancdas and Dr. Glen Basey.
Adsent: Dale Peterson, Dr. Rieh Bauscher, Bob Larson, Dee Child, Chuck Randolph, Bud Way,
Dennis Callsen, Patty Mickelsen, Tim Spencer, Helen McKinney, Rita Eari, Margaret
Langan, Thelma Carpenter, Mary Ann Grimm, Dr. Will Black, Danny Ozuna, Dr. Kevin
Leamed, Gilbert Hafen, Jesus deLeon, Amy Stahl, Dennis Bergvall and Vaughn Heinrich.
The Meeting was called to order by Dr. Basey at 12:05 p.m.
The minutes from tMe previous committee meeting on the 24"' of January 2000, were not read.
� AD HOC COMMITTEE WRAP-UP REPORTS
Finance Committee
Revenue $4,795.00
Expenses 4.295.00
Excess $ 500.00
A discussian was held to determine where the excess funds should be directed and after
many motionS on both the part of the Mayor and Chief Sobba, it was decided by Chief
Sobba to send the funds to a scholarship that could be given to sQmeone in Fii9h School
with it's use being for colfege. With no motion made t4 direct the funds, the issue was
called to vote and it passed unanimously.
Police Activities Committee
Chief Sobba thanked everyone for their help in making this a very happy outca�ne and
read a letter sent to him by a voter who was just asking when the shovels could be
handed out to dig the new facility.
Mavor Nancolas
The mayor spoke of thanks to everyone and stat� that this election was more than a
vote for a new police station, it was a vote of cor�fidence for a new vision in Caldwell that
will establish her position in the future. We came together to help Caldwetl grow. The
youths from the Mayor's Advisory Council were given a round of applause for their
support. Meetings have been going on between the architects and the city and plans �nrtll
. be forthc�ming. Thank you again for your support.

Voter Reaistration
Allan Laird reported on the vo#ing statistics utilized in this campaign.
2700 Votes Pinpointed for V�er Tumout
2469 Voters were identified from Vot�r Registratian Lists
1480 Voter Reminder Cards Mailecf out
2055 of the 2,469 Voters identified voted yes in this election
Allan introduced Carla Shields who was given a big round of applause for all of her v�rork
as a Secretary with the Caldw�ell Polic� Department,
hair Dr. Basey thanked ail of us and quoted someone in the commurriiy who told he that he
had put together'The Right Committee to do things in Caldwell". Another time will come
for all of us to wo�lc together again.
The meeting was adjoumed far tunch at 12:25 p.m.
