Caldweii City Police Station Bond Committee Meeting Minutes
December 13, 1999
Present: Bob Sobba, Patty Mickelsen, Christopher Green, Jim Hitt, Sami Schmitt, Mayor Garrett
Nancolas, Rod Endow and Dr. Rich Bauscher.
Absent: Dale Peterson, Bill Norman, Edison Child, Casey Crookham, Katie Roach, Margaret
Langan, Allan Laird, Gary Maybon, Estella Zamora, Elaine Carpenter, Wayne
Eisenbrandt, Dr. Glen Basey, Tony Ozuna, Thelma Carpenter, Mary Ann Grimm, Dr. Will
Black, Danny Ozuna, Dr. Kevin Learned, Gilbert Hafen, Jesus deLeon, Vaughn Heinrich,
Fred Cornforth, Ryan Beuler, Valinda Gabbard, Bob Larson, Bud Way and Chuck
Randolph.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Chairman's The deadline to pre-register by mail is January 7, 2000. Absentee Ballot registration
Report ends at 5 p.m. on January 31, 2000. Pre-registration at the Courthouse must be done by
January 7, 2000. At this date, the Bond Election will be held in four (5) polling locations;
The 7 Day Adventist Church, The Caldwell Chamber of Commerce Building, the Canyon
Hill Church of the Nazarene Church, Caldwell Public Library and the Canyon County New
Elections Building during the hours of Noon to 8 p.m. on February 1, 2000.
Minutes were read, Moved, Seconded and Approved. (MSP)
• The City has completed all legal requirements necessary to get the bond on the ballot in February.
The Dare Pal Officers are working the neighborhoods and talking to residents in the city about the
upcoming bond issue.
Please read the letter handed out and try to return with 10 names that can be called by the telephone
committee before the bond. The forms need to be returned to the police station.
Please review the Voters Registration List and indicate 10 names of someone you know is a yes voter.
The Mayor will speak to the high schools in the senior classes that have students who are eligible to vote
and try to register those voters. The college has registered 50 students to vote.
Patty Mickelson will have a sticker party at her home on the 26 of January. Stickers will be placed on
postcards to mail for reminders to vote. 2000 cards have been ordered for that use. They will be sent out
the friday before the election.
The new pamphlet displays a badge and all other promotional materials will use this logo. The building
has been replaced with this badge logo. 50 Signs will be printed and distributed by Carpenters Screen
Printing. A Fast Fax has been requested and will be sent by the Chamber of Commerce to all of iYs
Caldv�ll members. Letters to the editor have been requested and will be due in place at the Press
Tribune by January 15, 2000. The Brochures will be ready for passing out on the 10 of January and will
be included in all of the newsletters. Students will come up with their own slogan during the upcoming
months.
Reasons for the location were discussed with a member who had not been present during the last
meeting.
